04-22-08 ZOMBIE STRIPPERS IS LEGIT
“EASILY THE BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR, SO FAR.” - Luke Y. Thompson, LA Weekly
Los Angeles, CA (RUSHPRNEWS) April 22, 2008 - "Zombie Strippers" audiences view Sony’s new sci-fi horror comedy as a cult classic. Actor Brad Milne plays Dr. Chushfeld, the maniacal mastermind behind the chaos in "Zombie Strippers", which opened in select theatres nationwide last weekend. Reviewers are saying writer-director “ Jay Lee delivers absolutely everything you could possibly hope for in a film called Zombie Strippers.” - Luke Y. Thompson, SF Weekly, and that the film is “Joyfully ridiculous, action packed, sickly brilliant and twistedly clever, you get your money's worth with Zombie Strippers." - Fred Topel, www.canmag.com. "Zombie Strippers" opens in four more cities on 4/25/08: Atlanta, Seattle, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC.
"Zombie Strippers" is part of the Hollywood trend to create contemporary cult classics like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". Production companies will take their chances with eclectic stars or off-the-wall plot lines, and on occasion they clean up at the box office. B-movies and low budget entrepreneurial projects have forever been a staple among the Hollywood up-and-coming and, with luck, they turn into fan favorites. This spring "Zombie Strippers" is quickly emerging as this year’s contemporary cult classic. Brad Milne, no stranger to the genre, has created his own unique body of character work. Co-starring in Jay Lee’s first horror feature "The Slaughter" as Carl Stevens, and more recently the lead role in writer-director Bob Carter's "Dead in the Head" as Demon Jones, along with numerous others.
Branded Raw Films, Milne’s production entity founded with partner Andrew Giannetta has been driving its own low budget vehicle: "Izzy Legit" ©, a multi-brand multi-platform entertainment package. Legit splits into three stories: "Cheap for Life" ©, "Putz to Player" ©, and "The Extermutator" ©. All three developed by and marketed through Branded Raw Films, on the web at http://www.izzylegit.com. The combination of viral video and social media marketing blended with traditional film marketing, results in up-and-coming filmmakers having access to studio level distribution. In some cases these projects gather enough momentum and public awareness to get a theatrical release, like "Zombie Strippers".
